For a long time now, I have been planning a #nowyouseeme spotlight to introduce you all to some of our #prettybirdtribe. First up – you get to meet Sarah Callow, one of Ireland’s only female farriers who is based in Wicklow, Ireland!
March may be one of the busiest months of the year on farms but we have noticed that for some reason it is also one of the most fun and a bit of madness one’s on Twitter. I’m convinced it’s the long hours and late nights that drive us to particularly this platform for a quick chat, check in with the rest of the world and bit of farming solidarity banter.
We had a serious laugh in the last few weeks with two farmers from the UK – Jim Beary and his wife Julia. It all started on 11th March when I came across this tweet:
There is nothing we love more than good craic especially when it’s for a good cause. Many of you will know that Pretty Bird has struck up a great friendship with the Hynes Family in Aherla, Co. Cork. It was so great to meet Irish Times journalist Sean Dunne at the National Ploughing Championships. Sean did what a lot of journalists do now and put a call out on Twitter for Ploughing stories ahead of attending the event. Lorna Sixsmith, who has become a great friend to our business tipped me off about Sean’s tweet so I popped him an email telling him a little about the launch of our new business. Read More
This week, at the National Ploughing Championships we had the opportunity to meet up with a number of really interesting people, we have been following on Twitter. Here’s a few people we met that you should follow if you haven’t already!
For those of you that missed it, here is the link to our radio interview with MJ Clery of Midlands 103. We were delighted to get the call from MJ and tell him all about our business, where the idea for the business came from and about our stand at the National Ploughing Championships!
Pretty Bird feature starts at 32.48!
So we had a very exciting delivery this week – a new sample of range of products came in and we absolutely love them! With key items in this range averaging at €40, this is an extremely practical, affordable and stylish range that we expect to quickly become a best seller…
Climbing trees, catching fish, robbing apples, jumping bog holes, riding horses, playing soccer, building dens – these were the life and times of a tom boy growing up with three brothers in the countryside in the 90’s in South East Galway. The life and times of me and great times they were.
